Who else grew up watching HGTV with their moms? I not only grew up with HGTV in the background but I also have a mom who is an interior designer. I grew up imaging my first home: What would it look like? How would I decorate it? What color schemes would I choose?
When I was 26 I met my now husband. He was suuuuuch a dreamboat. I was super impressed with him in many ways and there was a *nice* bonus: he was already a homeowner! Well after months of dating, he proposed and instead of feeling anxiety about planning a wedding I felt a surge of anxiety about one thing: fixing.up.that.bachelor.pad!
We have come a long way. Haha, when I look back at those first few months of being married I remember just how much I loathed the brown-poop colored trim he chose. Like, really guys IT WAS POO BROWN 😀 Now, we have new crisp and white trim that I LOVE. We also made many other improvements including making my dream of having a yellow front door a reality!
I love home design. I have always loved mixing patterns, putting color schemes together, and learning how to do as much as possible by ourselves (not gonna lie, it’s super amazing that my husband is my equivalent of Chip Gaines). We have so much planned for this area and I CANNOT wait to start working on the projects.
While the interior and exterior of our home is now much-improved from the days of the bachelor pad, we really need to get around to doing our backyard. I am excited to show you our progress with various projects as well as provide some fun DIY projects for you to do for your home.
